Alliance Energy specializes in electric power generation, natural gas exploration, production and transportation, and energy technology research into various forms of renewable fuels such as biodiesel and hydropower. From our natural gas gathering fields in Alaska to our hydro-electric production facilities in the Catskill Mountains of New York, we continuously provide a safe, clean and reliable supply of energy to meet society's demands, while remaining attentive to our environmental responsibilities.

Our Vision
Behind the vision of Alliance Energy is its Founder and Chairman, Mr. Samuel G. Nappi. Mr. Nappi sees the energy world in a global context of responsibility and opportunity.
"Our country must develop a sustainable energy infrastructure which is environmentally responsible, yet economically affordable. In order to do that, we must focus on using all types of natural resources - and using them efficiently. We believe opportunities exist not only in traditional renewable resources like wind and hydropower, but also in developing technologies such as solar, kinetic hydro, biomass, geothermal and clean coal."
Alliance is translating this vision into reality. Consider the following:
- Alliance is currently repowering its Ogdensburg plant to run on clean, woody biomass fuel.
- Alliance is incorporating clean burning biodiesel into our peaking gas turbine facilities.
- Alliance is expanding its hydro facilities to make use of water that was once allowed to bypass generation equipment and rerouting it for productive purposes.
Finally, we believe that coal is truly a matter of national security because of its abundance in the United States. However, we must find a way to utilize this great resource in an environmentally friendly form. This is why we are funding research and working with universities to help develop new coal power plant technologies.
Our Research
Alliance Energy's belief in the potential of these biofuels in society is the basis for our energy research farm. We are exploring better methods for the production of energy through the use of low impact wind generation, high efficiency photovoltaic cells, and bio-oils from both high-yield sunflower crops and through algae extrusion.
Alliance also participates in joint studies with both the University of Alaska and Syracuse University, supporting important research and working to develop students into energy scientists for the future.
Our Team
At the core of Alliance's success is a cadre of experienced, dedicated individuals willing to continuously work to improve our future and the future of energy services. Our people serve as the executors of our vision and the guardians of our assets. Our personnel come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wide range of experience to our operations.
Looking further at this group of exceptional professionals, we find that more than half are former military personnel. Not only are these associates a living example of our corporate philosophy of supporting employment for qualified former service men and women, we have found that military training in energy systems and boiler operations is exhaustively comprehensive and brings the highest level of expertise and reliability to Alliance operations.
While the pane on the left contains a list of the management personnel within our organization, there are many others serving in vital roles without whom our organization could not function. These include control room and auxiliary operators, maintenance personnel, as well as administrative and support staff members.
