Alliance Energy Closes on Its Purchase of Lowell Cogeneration

07.20.12 Alliance Energy expanded its portfolio of generation assets in the northeastern US with the acquisition of the Lowell Power Plant in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Lowell facility is a 30 MW combined cycle power plant providing capacity and energy into the New England markets administered by ISO-NE. The Lowell facility is capable of utilizing renewable bio-diesel in addition to fossil fuels to generate electricity.

Alliance Energy Completes the Sale of Swinging Bridge Hydroelectric Facility to Eagle Creek Companies

06.25.12 Alliance Energy completed the sale of its Swinging Bridge hydroelectric facility to Eagle Creek Renewable Energy on June 25. The sale complements Eagle Creek's purchase of the Mongaup Falls and Rio Hydroelectric Projects that occurred on January 21, 2011, completing the transfer of a 21 megawatt system of five reservoirs and three generating facilities within New York State's Mongaup Valley. The sale includes the Toronto, Cliff Lake and Swinging Bridge Reservoirs.

Alliance Energy Purchases an Intrastate Pipeline in the Syracuse NY Area

11.25.11 Alliance Energy completed the purchase of an 9.5 mile high pressure natural gas pipeline serving the Central NY area. Through its interconnection with upstream interstate lines, this new project will allow Alliance to bring natural gas from other regions of North America to serve customers in the Syracuse area with clean-burning natural gas.
